Treatment Philosophy

"let us there cast off the works of darkness...Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness,..." Rm. 13:12,13

WE consider substance dependency to be a spiritual, mental, and physical issue and the substance dependent person to be deserving of the same respect and dignity afforded to persons afflicted with any other addiction.  WE believe that individuals can recover from their addiction and can rebuild abstinent productive lives through recovery.

WE consider it essential to address the whole spectrum of each person's spiritual, psychological, and physical needs.  Without addressing the entire person, the individual struggling with addiction is left without all the necessary tools to return to a healthy, fruitful life in recovery.

WE believe recovery from addictive disorders to be first a spiritual transformation followed by renewing the whole person.  And while WE cannot provide a cure for addiction nor promise you will never experience relapse, we can and do:
  1. Personally Introduce You To The True Higher Power.
  2. Provide A Support Group Made Up Of Men And Women Who Are in Successful Recovery For The Same Issues.
  3. Help You Find A Sponsor.
  4. Provide Necessary Teaching and Study Materials.
  5. Help Prepare You To Recognize And Respond To Your Own Relapse Process.
WE encourage all in recovery to respect themselves and to take personal responsibility for their own lives.  Recovery from substance dependence requires a decision on your part to accept and fully participate in the recovery process, and to encourage the participation of family and significant others, when appropriate.  We provide a supportive atmosphere conducive to you making right decisions.

Description

The purpose of the Drug and Alcohol group is to encourage each other on the Road to Recovery. We believe God never intended for us to live our Christian lives, or walk the Road to Recovery alone.

If, when you honestly want to, you find you cannot quit drinking or using entirely, or if you have little control over the amount you consume, you are probably an alcoholic and/or an addict. If that is the case, you may be suffering from a problem which only a spiritual solution will conquer.

If you are as seriously alcoholic or addicted as we were, we believe there is no middle-of-the-road solution. We were in a position where life was becoming impossible, and we had passed into the region from which there is no return through human resources, we had but two alternatives: One was to go on to the bitter end, blotting out the consciousness of our intolerable situation as best as we could; and the other was to accept Jesus Christ as our Higher Power.

"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.  Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."   Gal. 6:12 (KJV)

There Is A Solution

By working through the Eight Recovery Principles, found in the Beatitudes with Jesus Christ as your Higher Power, you can and will change!  You will begin to experience the true peace and serenity you have been seeking, and you will no longer have to rely on your dysfunctional, compulsive, and addictive behaviors as a temporary "fix" for your pain.

By applying the biblical principles of conviction, conversion, surrender, confession, restitution, prayer, quiet time, witnessing, and helping one another, which are found within the Eight Principles and the Christ centered 12 Steps,  you will restore and develop stronger relationships with others and with God.
