Divorce Care

Divorce Hurts
Find care, compassion, and help at DivorceCare.

Divorce Care is a special support group where "you" can find help as you recover from the hurt of separation or divorce.

The pain of separation and divorce is one of the most intense feelings a human being can face.  The emotional damage cuts to the soul.

True healing of this kind of pain can only come from God's presence in the life of a person experiencing it.  This presence comes through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. (See Essential First Step)

Participants in DivorceCare groups will hear this concept presented in a sensitive but clear manner.  The message of Christ cannot be forced on anyone, but we do have the responsibility to point people, hurting from divorce, to the only source of true healing from their pain and loss.
Build a support team.

At DivorceCare, you will become a part of a small support group of people who are also experiencing separation and divorce. By interacting with these people, you will learn there are others who understand what you are feeling and will be able to offer you encouragement. You will also have a chance to talk about the information presented during the seminar. The support group is a very helpful part of the program.

DivorceCare helps heal the hurt of divorce.

DivorceCare is a seminar/support group designed to effectively help minister to people hurting because of separation and divorce.

The Bible is presented as the "owner's manual" for life in the DivorceCare video series.  We believe it provides direction from God for issues such as separation, divorce, reconciliation, and remarriage.  These concepts are presented in a sensitive, compassionate manner and will be of interest even to nonbelievers and people not familiar with biblical concepts.
How DivorceCare works

DivorceCare provides materials to conduct a weekly seminar and support group.  There are 13 seminar sessions, provided on videotape and featuring top experts on divorce and recovery topics from a Christian perspective.

These tapes are produced in an interesting television magazine format and feature the real life stories of people who have been through divorce.

Following the videotape, your group will spend time talking about the tape and about their own experiences.  Discussion questions and a complete Leader's Guide are provided.  Extensive healing can occur during the support group discussion time.
Divorce Ministry Is Ongoing, Not "Event" Oriented.

When a person experiences separation or divorce, they need help and support right away.  DivorceCare groups are designed to be "open," so that a person can begin coming any week.  By having an ongoing divorce ministry in place, the church can respond quickly when someone turns to it for help.

"....to heal the brokenhearted." Luke 4:16
